The story of the Split Rock Lighthouse says that in the mid-1980s, a visitor lost his wallet after seeing the lighthouse, so he went back to look for it, but it was padlocked for the day. When he looked up at the tower, he saw a man in a lightkeeper's uniform on the catwalk. The visitor returned the next day and the staff gave him back his wallet that they found but they told him no one was in the tower after hours.
